40-Day Campaign Seeks to Engage Corporate Partners to Support Mission of

Nonprofit Impact across Bull City

ReCity Network, a social impact hub for nearly forty nonprofits, is launching its “Race for Space” initiative to engage 40 businesses in 40 days. From August 21-October 13, ReCity is inviting 40 companies to hold free meetings at their collaborative office space in downtown Durham.

ReCity’s Race for Space campaign kicks off an extended celebration of its one-year anniversary. The organization will offer free meeting times in exchange for exploring potential commitments from businesses to support the network by renting office and meeting space, or by making tax-deductible contributions and corporate sponsorships to the network.

“With Race for Space, we are collaborating with the local business community to build out a much bigger base of corporate partners,” said Rob Shields, Executive Director at ReCity Network. “Some mission-driven companies, like Agape Lawn Care and Forrest Firm, already see the power of purpose and the benefits of working with ReCity and its network members.”

Launched in September of 2016, ReCity continues to partner with local businesses to offer a growing portfolio of professional services to its partner organizations.

“The premise of our Race for Space Challenge is simple,” said Shields. “We believe that when business professionals experience this unique place first-hand, they want to be a part of it. We believe that the sustaining power of commitments from these organizations is pivotal to developing an ecosystem in Durham where businesses and nonprofits mutually benefit, and thrive together.”

Interested entrepreneurs and executives from Durham and the Triangle should go to ReCity Network’s Race for Space page to select a meeting time.
